SODOM AND GOMORRAH

There follows an eye-witness account of the aftermath of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah . Could the cities have been destroyed by a nuclear device, apparently levied against them by an alien race with extremely advanced technology?

The angels tell Lot to take refuse in the mountains, which would make sense if they wished someone not to be harmed by fallout from a nuclear attack; Rocks are excellent for absorbing radiation, hence the angels’ insistence that Lot should head for the mountains and not the plains.

Of course, they could not protect Lot ’s wife, who turned to look back at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and was turned into a pillar of salt. If a nuclear detonation had taken place, she would have been hit by a blast of hot air with high level of carbon dioxide from the firestorm. This could have triggered runaway chemical reactions in her body, where all the calcium was combined with carbon dioxide, instantly crystallizing her into a block of calcite.
