Plagiarism and Copyright Issues

Help us to Stop Copyright Infringement and Plagiarism

We are currently compiling a list of websites which can be checked by our staff when articles are sent to us, so that we can check any sources or/and to make sure these said articles are not infringing anyone's copyright. If you wish to help us with this then please contact us. copyright@orrar.net You can also add the following logo to let people know you are on our checklist.

Please note that ORRAR tries to check all texts where possible, so if we have been given a copy of your work and it is not stated as such or if your work has been plagiarised then please contact us copyright@orrar.net so that we can either correct or remove the work, whichever you desire.

If you wish to send us an article which is not your own work, then please try to get permission for the use of this.  We prefer written confirmation for this so that no misunderstandings can arise. However permissions can be sent by e-mail to us at permissions@orrar.net

We would also like to ask members now to name sources where possible on their work and to state at the bottom that they have not copied it from someone else's work. This type of behaviour by members and non members who send plagiarised texts causes our organisation much embarrassment and needless insults by others, as they insult us and not the parties responsible for sending us the texts. We would also like to give our apologies for any texts been used without permission.

If you see a text for which you have copyright to and wish us to remove it then please let us know. We are trying to make sure these sorts of things don't happen, but it is hard unless people help us. We do not condone behaviour of this type and need people to help us to deal with this kind of thing.  Any member found plagiarising anothers work will be reprimanded or expelled from our organisation, depending on the reason for infringement.

ORRAR COPYRIGHT

I would also like to point out that the ORRAR copyright at the bottom of each page is for the website design and our organisation logo and not any text unless by our members.

Even though this copyright will be null and void if the work has been plagiarised and so not the responsibility of ORRAR.
Any text without a name to it or if it is a translated document or ancient text then there is no copyright held by ORRAR for these.  These texts are given without sources and so are null and void from ORRAR copyright as they are not members work. So we can not be held liable for any copyright infringement.

Please note their are exceptions for a limited use of copyright material by non-profit organisations, schools, commercial research and study, providing acknowledgement of the material and author are included. However for large amounts permission would be a good idea. ORRAR is a non-profit organisation for research and study. For more information on Copyright see http://www.is4profit.com/busadvice/copyright/basic_copyright_facts/index.htm

ORRAR PERMISSIONS

ORRAR allows members and non-members the use of our organisation and members articles freely. If though you wish to use large amounts then please contact us for permission at permissions@orrar.net

The above only applies to stated ORRAR material and certain members articles. Articles on this website that are not from members or have no source or name or anothers copyright are not ours to give permission for unless stated otherwise.

Sightings material sent to us is strictly copyrighted to us and cannot be copied freely as these are sent to us by people who allow us the right to their sightings for our use only.  We must acknowledge that they have only given us the right to use this material.  If you do wish to use any sightings please contact us at permissions@orrar.net

There are also other members articles which cannot be copied freely as well, due to them having these in personal books etc.  If you wish to use these you must contact our admin department stating the article and name of author, as these will state on them that they cannot be copied freely.
admin@orrar.net

ORRAR can not be held accountable for any copyright infringement as we are an organisation with members across the world and are a non - profit organisation.  There is also the problem that many countries do not have the same types of laws on copyright as the UK or US.  We do NOT condone this behaviour we take it very seriously and are doing our best to help stop this from happening.
