CRYPTOZOOLOGY INTRODUCTION

This department is a very interesting and exciting area, and will consist of six different parts.

The following are the six areas, with which this department will have.

OUT OF PLACE ANIMALS

This area will be for information and study of animals, which are classed as out of place or better known as not native to the particular area in which they seem to be living.  This includes such things as the Beast of Bodmin and The Beast of Exmoor.  These are what are generally termed as Alien Big Cats or ABC’s.

There are other animals and creatures that also come into this category but the above mentioned are probably the best well known of this area.

UNKNOWN CREATURES

This category is to cover those many unexplainable unknown creatures, such as The Loch Ness Monster, The Yeti, Abominable Snowman, and also such beings as the Mothman.  This area is to be categorised as unknown, as there is a distinct lack of evidence to prove of their existence.

MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES

A category for which may sound like the one described above, but in reality is for creatures that have only been mentioned in myths or books.  These will include such creatures as Werewolves, Dragons, Fairies and Unicorns.  It will also encompass others like The Cyclops and Minotaur to mention just a few for example.

DINOSAURS

Probably the best know out of our six categories.  This will be for learning about dinosaurs, the myth behind them and the truth, and will also give details of any new discoveries regarding this area.  Please also note that any creature from this time will also be viewed in this category.

NEW SPECIES

A category devoted to the newly discovered animal, insect etc.  I have included this category for the reason that many of these new species, which have been discovered, were actually based on myth or legends of the past.  It will also help us to understand other categories in this department.

OTHER

Any others will be classed in this sixth and final category.

SUMMARY

For most, these creatures will seem to be unreal, a myth or something that has been misinterpreted by the viewer.  However, many will find that over time myths can actually become reality, as this has been shown during the past centuries.  Many creatures in the last couple of hundred years or so that have been discovered have originated from some form of native mythology.  These creatures are now accepted by modern day society as being part of our everyday life and normal.  Yet many still believe that any mentioned in these areas are not real.  Only time and study will bring new evidence and light to these myths.

It is worth noting that in recent times, that new discoveries have been made, for instance after the Vietnam war, there have been over 500 newly discovered species within this country, that were previously unknown, and most of these were actually known to the Vietnamese in their myths and legends, and are now known to be real.

For instance such animals as the Kimono Dragon and Vampire Bats were originally only based within mythology.

If you have any information or knowledge on these areas and would like to share this with others, then please feel free to send it to me using the e-mail address below.  Members and non-members would also appreciate any pictures or photographs that you may be able to send in.
