BRIEF TREATISE ON SOME OF
THE POINTS TO
EGYPTOLOGY

One day the gods came down and blessed Earth with a great civilization. Wait, no, I think it was a colony of Atlantis that survived. Well, there are probably 400 theories on how Egypt came to be, but for me, I always teach people using archeological fact so they have the freedom to make their own opinions and discoveries.

Archeologists believe it sprang up around 3000 B.C. The ancient civilization of Egypt is based around the Nile and the Mediterranean Sea. This causes many people to mistake Egypt for being in the Middle East, but it is actually in Africa.

The first dynasty was very strict and traditional. Only men were pharos, women were generally second-class citizens, and they hated outsiders. They were very reluctant to talk to anyone who wasn’t Egyptian. These ancient Egyptians sometimes killed the workers so they wouldn’t give away the secrets of the things, which they built. Okay, so maybe Egyptians were a little more extreme than the Puritans, but that’s the comparison that always comes to my mind.

The bloodline was kept in the family; so much that siblings would marry. As gross and strange as this may seem to us, it was very natural then. Never heard of retarded (no not meaning it in an offensive way) and disabled Egyptian children? Well that’s because if it was ever noticeable they were either killed or sold. These disabled children were considered to be a curse from the Gods/Goddesses and would bring bad luck to the household.

Pharaohs were often murdered, kidnapped (and sometimes sold in secret) or they would just disappear like they never existed. When they died many would bury slaves and pets with them for which many would still be alive.

During this time period Egyptians weren’t the great mighty people we always think of. Several different nations such as Persia and Macedonia controlled Egypt at some time in its history along with others, thus this is probably why Egyptians didn’t like outsiders.
